A 30-Day Plan to Prepare for a Fresher Technical Interview

By the Codveri team ·

A week-by-week routine covering coding, core subjects, projects and the HR round for freshers.

Week 1: coding fundamentals

Solve two or three easy and medium problems a day on arrays, strings and hashing. Write code by hand or without autocomplete at least twice, since some rounds are on paper or a plain editor.

Week 2: core subjects

Revise DBMS and SQL, operating systems, computer networks and OOP. For each, write down ten questions and answer them aloud.

Week 3: your projects and resume

Re-read every line of your resume and prepare to explain it. For each project know why you chose the tools, the hardest bug and what you would change.

Week 4: mock interviews

Do at least four mock interviews with a friend or senior, record one and watch it. Take timed rated tests to practise performing under pressure.

The HR round

Prepare short, honest answers to: tell me about yourself, why this company, a challenge you faced, your strengths and weaknesses, and where you see yourself in three years. Keep each under a minute.

The day before

Sleep well, check your documents and internet and read the company's website. Prepare two questions to ask the interviewer.
